Welcome to German Football Bundesliga Hub! Here you will find some general informations about the German Bundesliga and also many specific informations about the current season.

Note: The term "Bundesliga" is used not only for the football league in germany but also for many other sport leagues like Handball, Basketball etc. But this artikel is all about the Football League.

The Bundesliga is the highest level of Germany's football league system and has two divisions.

Both leagues are professional leagues and each league consists of 18 teams. At the end of the season which starts in early August and lasts until late May, with a winter break of six weeks (mid-December through to the end of January) the last three of the 1 league and the first 3 of the 2 league change their leagues.

The 1. Bundesliga is financially strong. The 18 clubs invested around 180 million Euros in new players for the 2007/2008 season. The highest amount clubs ever invested in a single season. FC Bayern Munich alone invested around 72 million Euros.

The 2. Bundesliga has begun to evolve in a similar direction, becoming more stable organisationally and fiscally, and reflecting an increasingly higher standard of professional level play.

FC Bayern Munich are the record champions. Other than FC Bayern Munich, Hamburger SV, Borussia Dortmund, FC Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen are also internationally well-known.

The season will be very exciting. With many internationaly well-know stars like Franck Ribery, Luca Toni, Oliver Khan, Miroslav Klose etc. FC Bayern Munich are the hot favorites to become the Champions again. They lead the points table at the moment and haven't lost a game yet.

19.09.2007 - 6th, 7th and 8th Match days will be on 21st to 30th September. That means 27 Bundesliga matches with in 10 days! That is lot of football. Let's see whether the FC Bayern can hold on to their top position after 2 tied games against Hamburger SV and Schalke 04.
